Experiencia laboral y académica:

·  El Dr. Revah, es actualmente Profesor Investigador Titular “C” de la Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana-Unidad Cuajimalpa y Director de la Semblanza del Dr. Sergio Revah Moiseev El Dr. Revah, es Profesor Investigador Titular “C” de la Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana-Unidad Cuajimalpa. En el periodo 2009- 2013 fue Director de la División de Ciencias Naturales e Ingeniería y en 2005- 2009, fundó y dirigió por 4 años el Departamento de Procesos y Tecnología. Hasta septiembre de 2005, perteneció, al Área de Ingeniería Química del Departamento de Procesos e Hidráulica de la UAM- Iztapalapa. Es ingeniero químico por la UNAM en 1976, Maestro en ciencias de alimentos por la U. California-Davis en 1978 y Doctor en Bioprocesos de la U. Tecnología de Compiégne, Francia en 1986. Inició su carrera académica en la UAM en trabajando inicialmente con proyectos en procesos biotecnológicos en alimentos y posteriormente en aplicaciones al mejoramiento ambiental. En el campo del control de contaminación por procesos biotecnológicos, el laboratorio del Dr. Revah es reconocido mundialmente y ha sido el lugar en dónde se han formado numerosos profesionales de varias nacionalidades a nivel licenciatura y posgrado. Como resumen de los logros del Dr. Revah están el haber dirigido 5 tesis de Licenciatura, 37 de Maestría y 17 de Doctorado. Ha participado en más de 250 presentaciones en congresos y reuniones académicas. Tiene varias patentes y ha publicado más de 100 artículos en revistas arbitradas internacionales, 15 en revistas nacionales, 20 capítulos de libro y 7 artículos de difusión. Sus trabajos tienen más de 1700 citas. Ha sido profesor invitado en Universidades en Francia, Canadá, España, Chile y Colombia. Ha participado en los comités científicos de los principales congresos de su campo y ha revisado artículos para las principales revistas. Organiza bianualmente uno de los congresos más importantes de su campo siendo el más reciente el Duke- UAM- IWA Conference on Biofiltration realizado en San Francisco EU en 2013. Para apoyar su investigación ha logrado el apoyo de instituciones nacionales académicas tales como Conacyt, IMP, INE y el ICyTDF, e internacionales como la AIEA, la OEA, la UE, la AECDI (España), Conicyt (Chile), etc. En aspectos de vinculación ha realizado proyectos con empresas nacionales e internacionales. Además ha participado en la formación de dos exitosas compañías de base tecnológica y en una de ellas, sigue siendo socio y asesor técnico. Ha obtenido diversos reconocimientos como ser miembro del Sistema Nacional de Investigadores Nivel 3, Premio Ciba- Geigy, en Tecnologías Ambientales, el Premio en Ciencia y Tecnología “Manuel Noriega Morales” de la Organización de Estados Americanos y recientemente el Premio Nacional de Ciencias y Artes 2010 en el campo de Tecnología. Es miembro Titular de la Academia Mexicana de Ciencias y pertenece al Consejo Consultivo de Ciencias de la Presidencia de la República.

Ha participado en los comités científicos de los principales congresos de tratamiento biológico de aire y ha revisado artículos para revistas como Biotechnol. Bioeng., Environm. Sci. & Technol, Appl. Microbiol. Biotechnol. y otras. El trabajo de investigación ha sido posible al sostén de la UAM, a contratos de investigación con agencias de apoyo y empresas privadas Mexicanas (CONACYT, IMP, Grupo Cydsa, SEMARNAT, Proagua Potosí) y a convenios internacionales (IFS, Suecia; Agencia Internacional de Energía Atómica, Austria: la Comunidad Económica Europea, la Organización de Estados Americanos; UC- Mexus y U. California- Riverside y el DOE de EU).
